Virginia Fróis is an Associate Professor at Faculdade de Belas Artes of Universidade de Lisboa (1989), where she develops her activity as a researcher and as a teacher. During this period, we highlight the orientation of several research works within many master’s degrees, doctoral studies and post-doctoral studies in Fine Arts/Sculpture. She teaches the curricular units of ceramics and sculpture. Within the scope of her investigation, she coordinated the project Projeto de Investigação Escultura Cerâmica (2001 to 2004, Instituto Francisco de Holanda, Escultura Cerâmica), where we highlight the recovery work of sculptures from the baroque sculpture collection in terracota from the Monastery of Alcobaça and the production of the exhibition (E)vocações along with IPPAR (2003 to 2004). She develops projects for Companhia Nacional de Refractários da Abrigada and for Fábrica Bordalo Pinheiro in Caldas da Rainha. In 2005 she begins the project Guardar Águas (Terra di Barro http://youtu.be/mp-J6cJrgwo), does research in the field of ethnoceramics – women’s pottery in the community of Trás di Munti in the municipality of Tarrafal de Santiago in Cape Verde. In 2009 she founds the Arts and Crafts Center in Cape Verde.
