Richard Meitner is an artist already with a long career, but always had a great interest in Science. Working at Vicarte enables him to satisfy that interest, and pursue various lines of investigation. The question that holds his greatest interest is: “what scientists and artist share, and also what clearly differentiates those two pursuits?”. In 2016, he was awarded a Phd from the University of Lisbon for a thesis dealing with that subject. In first instance, it is making Art, and to a somewhat lesser extent, teaching art, that are his primary occupations. But that question: what makes Art different than-, and what makes it similar to other pursuits, e.g. Science, continues to fascinate and engage him.
