Maria Francisca Pulido Valente

Francisca Pulido Valente is a Portuguese researcher how wond the “Prof. Dr Ina Isings Prize 2024” prizze by studying the chevron glass beads attribueted to Soop Glasshouse (Amsterdam). In 2023, she won the grant “Bourses d’excellence pour étudiants étrangers (PBEEE)” with the best classification. In this project, she was archaeometrically studying hundreds of glass beads, dated between the 16th and the 18th centuries, and found in Quebec in some colonial contexts. As background, Francisca is doctorated in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage, applied to glass material by NOVA School of Science and Technology and in her master dissertation she was responsible to study the largest heavy baluster crystal goblets ever found in Europe and some of the studied glass artefacts are nowadays in exhibition at Casa Dos Bicos, Lisbon, Portugal.
