Inês Coutinho is Assistant Professor at the Department of Conservation and Restoration FCT NOVA. Her field of work is the Conservation and Restoration of Glass and Ceramics Cultural Heritage She is motivated by the history of the production of historical glass objects, the disclosure of its commercial routes and usage throughout the centuries, and how glass trading reflected in the civilizations’ economy. Through the study of historical glass compositions, it is expected to learn more about glass degradation phenomena and as a result to propose new and improved conservation measures for this material.
