Catarina Villamariz is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Conservation and Restoration (FCT NOVA) and Researcher at the VICARTE Research Unit. She holds a PhD in History of the Art with a thesis entitled Religious Gothic Architecture in Portugal in the Fourteenth Century: the Time of Experimentalisms and a line of investigation with a particular focus in the area of religious architecture. More recently, her interests also include research in the study of glass and its respective iconography in the Medieval and Modern Ages, namely in stained glass. Presently developing a project focusing on glass for medicinal use that will encompass the study of selected pieces, as well as their insertion in a multidisciplinary framework.
