CARLA MACHADO has both Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Conservation and Restoration, with specialisation in stained-glass and stained-glass painting materials, and a PhD in Conservation Science entitled “From the texts to the laboratory – a study for the preservation of historical grisailles”. Her research has been focused on the materials’ characterisation, technical art history and the degradation of painted glass materials. She is currently working as a researcher focusing her work on the production of stained glass in 20th century Portugal and is currently a team member of the FCT-funded project ChromAz and collaborator on the FCT-funded project MAGICA.
