At VICARTE we will continue to develop the study of raw materials, production practices, shapes, use, trade routes and cultural interactions for the critical analysis of the historical evolution of glass and ceramics.
This integrated methodology allows for the construction of a comprehensive historical narrative, created from micro-histories. We will investigate different possibilities of representing the tangible and intangible aspects of craft and artistic practices as cultural heritage, documenting the know-how, its techniques and its gestures, through new technologies and in depth scientific analysis of museum objects. Studies in the field of cultural heritage also include conservation methodologies and the transfer of the produced knowledge.
