Márcia Vilarigues Appointed to the Permanent Scientific Committee of World Monuments Fund Portugal

Prof. Márcia Vilarigues, Coordinator of VICARTE – Glass and Ceramics for the Arts and faculty member at NOVA School of Science and Technology (NOVA FCT), has been appointed to the Permanent Scientific Committee of World Monuments Fund Portugal (WMF Portugal).

This appointment recognizes her longstanding contribution to cultural heritage conservation, heritage science, and interdisciplinary research, while also highlighting VICARTE’s leading role in advancing knowledge and innovation in heritage preservation.

The World Monuments Fund Portugal is part of the international World Monuments Fund network, dedicated to the protection, conservation, and promotion of cultural heritage sites of outstanding significance. Through its Scientific Committee, the organization contributes to defining priorities and strategies for the safeguarding of cultural heritage.

Prof. Vilarigues’ appointment further strengthens the connection between scientific research, conservation practice, and heritage management, reinforcing the visibility of both VICARTE and NOVA FCT within national and international heritage networks.
