Exhibition Highlights Italy’s Cultural Legacy at The Venice Glass Week

VICARTE – Glass and Ceramic for the Arts is proud to take part in the 2025 edition of The Venice Glass Week with the exhibition “Famous Italians – Glass Laser Engravings”, held at the iconic Palazzo da Mula, in Murano (Venice), from 16 to 21 September.

Curated by António Pires de Matos (VICARTE / NOVA FCT) and Fernando Quintas (FBAUL), the exhibition is the result of a collaborative effort between VICARTE, the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (FBAUL), and Fab Lab Lisboa.

The exhibition celebrates Italy’s enduring contribution to civilisation by showcasing laser-engraved portraits on small flat glass panels, depicting some of the most renowned Italian artists, writers, and scientists. The project combines traditional materials with innovative technology to highlight the richness of Italy’s literary, artistic, and scientific heritage.

Visitors will also find a poster illustrating connections between the individuals represented and various historic locations across Venice.

📍 Venue: Palazzo da Mula, Murano – Fondamenta da Mula 152
📆 Dates: 16–21 September 2025
