The Trafaria Digital Art Festival – PERIPHERA – returns in 2025 with a new edition that once again highlights the intersection of artistic practice, critical thinking, and technology, while promoting engagement with the local community and territory. The initiative includes a programme of artistic residencies taking place from October 6 to 26 in the village of Trafaria, culminating in a public presentation of the projects from November 14 to 16 during the festival.

The programme invites artists, researchers, and creative practitioners with relevant training or experience in fields such as visual arts, digital media, performance, sound, video, design, or engineering to develop proposals with a technological component in a collaborative and critically engaged environment.

Eight participants will be selected. Applications are open until August 15, and should include a portfolio, short CV, and motivation letter, to be sent to: trafariacriativa@gmail.com.

This is an excellent opportunity for members of the academic and artistic communities — including students and researchers from DCR and the VICARTE research unit — to develop experimental, interdisciplinary, and technologically innovative projects in dialogue with the local context of Trafaria.
