The internationally acclaimed Mexican artists, Einar and Jamex De La Torre, brought their extraordinary glass art to Portugal in 2023 with an exhibition at the Museu do Vidro in Marinha Grande. This unique showcase, titled “Postais Coloniais, De La Torre Brothers,” was organized by the Marinha Grande City Council as part of the International Year of Glass celebrations, offering visitors a rare opportunity to witness the distinctive artistry of the De La Torre Brothers.

The exhibition included works crafted in renowned European glass centers where the artists had previously exhibited. Four pieces were created specifically for the Museu do Vidro display, conceived during their creative residency at VICARTE – Glass and Ceramics for the Arts, NOVA University Lisbon. During their time at VICARTE, the De La Torre Brothers not only developed new works but also held a live glassblowing demonstration for students from the Master’s program, sharing their innovative techniques and creative vision as part of the International Year of Glass.

The exhibition ran through September 2023 at the Núcleo de Arte Contemporânea (NAC) in the Resinagem Building, offering free admission to all visitors. This event was a special opportunity for Portugal’s art enthusiasts and students to connect with the De La Torre Brothers’ exceptional fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary expression in glass.
