Fernando Pina got a PhD in Chemical Engineering in 1983 from IST-UTL Lisbon, in synthesis and photochemistry of organometallic compounds, Post-Doc with Vincenzo Balzani, in chemistry and photochemistry of coordination compounds and supramolecular entities. He is full Professor of Chemistry at the New University of Lisbon. He has been working for more than 20 years in the Physical Chemistry of Anthocyanins and related compounds. He focused his interests in the pH dependent kinetics and thermodynamic of the flavylium based multistate systems in particular their photochromic properties. He was involved in may applied projects in particular during the first years of the start up that is now the company Invisible.
